Tres denuncias por Encefalitis Equina en Florida
Daniel Berti, director departamental del Ministerio de Ganadería Agricultura y Pesca, dijo a TV Florida que en el departamento de Florida hubo tres denuncias por caso de Encefalitis Equina.
“Se realizó el sangrado correspondiente, se mandaron las muestras y todavía no tenemos información acerca del resultado”, expresó.
La Encefalitis es una enfermedad viral poco común, pero grave, que es transmitida por la picadura de mosquitos infectados y que puede afectar a personas y caballos.
Berti expresó que a nivel país se ha reportado hasta el momento un solo caso confirmado en el departamento de Salto.
En cuanto a las denuncias, indicó que fueron unas 1.700 en el país, 78 animales enfermos y 12 muertos.
“Hay vacunas de acuerdo a la sepa que sea, se está realizando una importación para que haya disponible en el mercado”, afirmó.
Ante estos casos el MGAP y el MSP recomienda como medidas por el contacto humano usar repelente y trabajar con ropa adecuada, (camisas de manga larga y pantalones largos).
A nivel animal se recomienda desinfectar caballerizas y tratar de evitar criaderos de mosquitos no dejando acumular agua en recipientes y barriles.
