Por causas que aún se tratan de esclarecer, el director de administración de la Intendencia de Florida, Álvaro Riva Rey, informó a TV Florida que el joven sufrió una lesión cervical con pérdida de conocimiento debajo del agua.
El rápido accionar de los guardavidas que trabajan en el lugar permitió la reanimación del mismo siendo luego derivado a un centro asistencial quedando en estado delicado.
